Microsoft Office warnings with WebDrive / WebDAV vaults

Since a recent Microsoft Office update you get a warning pop up when opening Office files on a WebDrive/ WebDAV vault. This is due to the fact that Microsoft wants to move away from the Basic Authentication which is used for WebDAV connections.

We will implement a different authentication method with a future update, but for how, to work around this, you can change some settings in your Windows registry:

• open regedit on your Windows PC
• go to (or create if needed) Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity

• make a new value there => value with expandable string

• name that value “basichostallowlist” + add “webdav.nomadesk.com” under data (see screenshot)

• reboot your PC
