You can import your vault as a folder to a default location, or change the data path to an existing folder you want to sync. Both steps are explained below.
This can be useful if you have an existing folder on your PC that you want to share without copying the data onto a Vault first. Changes made to that folder will then sync with our cloud, and vice versa.
If you want to import a vault as a folder, instead of an encrypted data file, follow the steps below.
DEFAULT LOCATION
- Select Enable importing as synchronised Folder option via Tools, Options + click Close.
- In your dashboard, go to the Vault that you want to import and choose Import as synchronized folder.
- NOTE: if you click Show Vaults that are not imported and you don't see the option to import as a folder appear in the UI, close (not quit) the dashboard and open it again.
- The Vault is then downloaded to a folder with the Vaultname under C:\Users\USERNAME\Nomadesk
CUSTOM DATA LOCATION
- First import the vault as a folder via the steps from part 1.
- Go to the Vault properties.
- Under vault information click change and navigate to the existing folder that you want to sync and click OK
- NOTE: If you select an existing folder, it has to be on a local disk, we can't sync folders on networklocations
